Quoth the Moron, "Furthermore"

First off, Thomas: It's a Heath Ledger movie, obviously. When I first saw that movie, I thought, "He's got a long future in the business."

I had another "I wasn't counting on this" moment last night. In addition to the previously mentioned differences in Michelle and my diets pre-marriage, there are some other distinctives that went unmentioned: Michelle's disdain for eggs, my craving for smoked meats, and differing approaches to how to prepare veggies.

But the most important difference arose again last night, in my hour of need. I have an intense craving for sweets, at all hours and for any reason. It's good that I work at Billy Reid, because there's a constant supply of super-saccharine sour balls available just inches away from where I am currently typing this entry. Anyway, I really craved some dessert last night, but given our current approach to grocery shopping and Michelle's lack of a sweet tooth, the cupboard was quite bare.

Oh wailing and knashing of teeth! I think I'm going to have to buy some Chips Ahoy! on the way home...

My advice to unmarried people is to just be honest about what you're looking for in a husband or wife. You know, important things like a sweet tooth and roach-killer. ;)

  2. I did my screening up front; on our very first date I asked the important questions. Questions like "do you like big dogs?", and "would you ever allow animals to be hung on your walls?".

  3. This is so funny :) Walt's not a big fan of eggs or desserts either...but I REALLY like both :)

Rob, bake a homemade batch of cookies (cheaper than buying them pre-packaged & chances are that you have all of the ingredients on hand anyway) and just keep them in a zip-loc in the freezer. Take one out as you want it and pop it in the microwave to warm it up.

  4. Chandra, after I read your suggestion I made a batch of peanut butter cookies (his favorite!) thinking they'd go in the freezer and last MONTHS! Little did I know that 4 boys were coming over to my apartment that evening to hang out in my living room and eat all my cookies!

I'll make another freezer batch soon...

  5. I made 2 dozen cookies, thinking that Thomas could have them packed in his lunch every day for 2 weeks. But at his rate of 3-6 cookies per day they did not make it that long.
